Buying Bare-Metal Servers Online Just Got Better: Meet the New HorizonIQ Store
Buying a server shouldn’t require a sales call. You should be able to see what’s available, compare your options, understand exactly what you’re getting, and buy it.
That’s the idea behind HorizonIQ’s new bare-metal server store.
We’ve offered the ability to buy bare metal online before. But as our inventory grew and changed, the experience needed to catch up. So we took the store offline and used that time to rethink how we could make it easier to buy infrastructure online.
Now it’s back. And it’s a pretty big upgrade.
The old store worked. We knew it could work better.
The previous store did the important thing: it let you buy bare-metal servers online. Finding the right one took more digging than it should. There was no filtering, and the specs weren’t as detailed as we wanted them to be.

If you’re buying infrastructure online, transparency is kind of the whole point.
So, we changed it. Here’s the new store.

The biggest difference is pretty simple: you can see more, and you can find what you need faster.
Why did we rebuild our bare metal shop?
Infrastructure has traditionally been sold through forms, quotes, emails, and sales calls. And when you’re designing a complex environment, talking to an engineer is the right move. But buying a server doesn’t always need to be a project. If you know what you need, you should be able to configure it and check out.
That instinct lines up with where the market is heading. The bare metal cloud market is projected to grow from roughly $14.3 billion in 2025 to $36.7 billion by 2030, and a Barclays CIO survey found that 86% of enterprise leaders plan to move at least some workloads back to private or dedicated infrastructure, the highest figure on record. More teams are choosing bare metal for steady, predictable, and AI-heavy workloads, and more of them want to buy it without scheduling a meeting. We also moved our platform to Proxmox VE along the way, which gives us more room to automate how servers get delivered and managed.
The goal was to give people the information they need, let them configure what they want, then get out of the way.
What changed?
- Filtering that narrows fast. Sort by data center location, tier, core count, memory, and vendor to land on the right machine in seconds.
- Full specs on every listing. Cores, threads, clock speeds, memory, storage, network ports, and monthly transfer are all visible before you commit.
- Refreshed inventory for modern workloads. The catalog spans single-socket Xeon E for lighter apps up through AMD EPYC and dual Xeon Gold for AI and heavy compute.
- A smoother path through browse, search, configure, cart, and checkout. Fewer dead ends, and month-to-month or annual terms.

FAQs
What’s a managed bare-metal server, and who is it for?
A bare-metal server is a single physical machine dedicated to one customer, with no hypervisor layer and no shared tenancy, so you get the full CPU, memory, and network the hardware offers. “Managed” means our team handles provisioning, monitoring, and patching, so you run the workload while we run the box.
It fits a few kinds of buyers: teams running AI inference or analytics that need consistent compute, database and virtualization workloads that suffer from the noisy-neighbor effect on shared cloud, and companies in regulated industries that need isolation they can show an auditor. If your workload is steady and predictable, dedicated hardware is often cheaper to run than renting equivalent capacity by the hour.
How do the three tiers compare?
We group the catalog into three tiers so the starting point is obvious.
| Tier | Processors | Cores | Best for | Starts at |
| Bare Metal | 1 × Xeon E3 / E5 | 4–6 | Web apps, game servers, dev environments | $57/mo |
| Advanced Bare Metal | 2 × Xeon E5 / Silver | 12–28 | Virtualization, containers, busy databases | $165/mo |
| Ultimate Bare Metal | AMD EPYC / Xeon Gold | 16–36 | AI workloads, analytics, high-performance databases | $190/mo |
Start with the workload rather than the price. A single-app project is well served at the entry tier, while inference and analytics benefit from the core density and memory in Ultimate.
What stayed the same in the new store?
The parts that earn trust. Every server is still single-tenant and deployed and operated by our team, typically within 48 hours, backed by 24/7 support and ISO 27001 certification. And the guarantee that anchors all of it holds: a 100% uptime SLA.
How do I pick the right server?
- Name the workload. AI inference, a production database, and a dev sandbox have different appetites for cores, memory, and network throughput.
- Filter by what’s non-negotiable first. Usually that’s data center location for latency or data residency, then vendor if you have a CPU preference.
- Right-size cores and memory to the job. More is not automatically better, and over-provisioning is money left on the table every month.
- Match the term to the commitment. Month-to-month suits a workload you’re still validating; annual makes sense once it’s steady.
- Talk to our team. If you’re weighing a complex build or a multi-site setup, a short conversation with an engineer beats guessing.
If your needs run past bare metal into private cloud, storage, or networking, we have that too and we’re happy to help you figure out the right setup.
